WINTWIRE
Titanium Grade 4
Titanium grade 4 wire is the strongest of the standard commercially pure titanium grades. It provides significantly greater tensile and yield strength than grades 1, 2 and 3 while retaining excellent corrosion resistance and good weldability. Grade 4 is selected where the corrosion behaviour of commercially pure titanium is required alongside increased mechanical strength, making it particularly useful for highly loaded components, medical devices and demanding industrial applications. Although less ductile and more demanding to form than the lower-strength CP grades, it remains workable using appropriate processing methods. It is also used as welding wire under the ERTi-4 designation.
