WINTWIRE
Titanium Grade 1
Titanium grade 1 wire is the softest and most ductile of the commercially pure titanium grades. Its low oxygen and iron content give it the highest formability of any titanium wire we draw, along with excellent impact toughness at low temperatures and the best corrosion resistance of the CP family in oxidising and mildly reducing environments. Grade 1 is the grade to specify where forming severity matters more than strength — deep drawing, tight-radius bending, spring-back sensitive components and continuous cold work. It welds readily and is widely used as filler wire under the ERTi-1 designation. Where a component needs more strength but the same corrosion behaviour, grade 2 is usually the next step.
