Inconel 600
Alloy 600 wire or 2.4816 is a nickel based stable, austenitic sold-solution alloy. It has excellent carburization and offers good oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures. With a nickel content of a minimum of 72% the alloy offers a high resistance to corrosion in many environments whilst it is also known to be virtually immune to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Alloy 600 is slightly less machinable than free machine grade AISI303 stainless steel but slightly more machinable than AISI304. A trading name of Special Metals Group of Companies
