Black Annealed Mild Steel Wire
WintWire offers its mild steel wires with a black annealed finish. The process which is undetaken in house in one of the companies three large electric batch furnaces. The process takes the material to around 690 degrees and holds it at this temperature for a set length of time, the material then undergoes a controlled cooling which leaves the material soft and with a dark black surface. The material is extremely maluable and now in its softest state. This wire is especially popular in our fine wire diameters including 0.711 / 0.91 mm / 1.00 / 1.20 / 1.60 mm.
