Titanium Grade 23
itanium grade 23 wire is the extra-low-interstitial (ELI) version of Ti-6Al-4V and combines high strength with improved ductility and fracture toughness compared with conventional grade 5. Tighter limits on oxygen, nitrogen and iron make the alloy particularly suitable for applications where toughness, fatigue performance and reliability are critical, including medical implants and demanding aerospace components. Grade 23 retains the excellent strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance associated with the Ti-6Al-4V alloy family while providing enhanced performance where material cleanliness and low interstitial content are important. It is commonly supplied as welding wire under the ERTi-23 designation.
