WINTWIRE
Titanium Grade 2
Titanium grade 2 wire is the most widely used of the commercially pure titanium grades, combining excellent corrosion resistance with higher strength than grade 1 while retaining good ductility, formability and weldability. This balance makes grade 2 a versatile choice for components exposed to seawater, chlorides and many chemical processing environments, where long-term corrosion performance is required without moving to a higher-strength titanium alloy. It can be cold formed and welded readily and is widely specified as filler wire under the ERTi-2 designation. Grade 2 is often the starting point for general-purpose commercially pure titanium wire applications, with grade 1 preferred where maximum formability is required and grades 3 or 4 where greater strength is needed.
